This Thursday, May 20 at 12:30pm EST / 9:30am PT, the International Rescue Committee will host a Global Virtual Event to celebrate and honor courageous acts of leadership. COVID-19 restrictions have made business as usual impossible, particularly for events like this traditional New York Rescue Dinner gala. However, necessity is the mother of invention and IRC has designed a unique, engaging opportunity that has converted this year’s Rescue Dinner into something more inclusive and impactful than ever, titled ‘Leadership in times of Crisis Global Virtual Event’.

During the program you will see powerful stories about refugees and IRC team members who have stepped up when others have stepped back. This event will open with a performance by Faouzia and close with a song from Sting. They will both be joined by this year’s Freedom Award honoree - renowned social justice advocate Bryan Stevenson.

Introducing some incredible IRC clients will be Rami Malek, Morena Baccarin, Danielle de Niese, Jay Ellis, Ebony Obsidian, Sepideh Moafi and Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody with closing remarks from Keegan-Michael Key and the keynote video voiced over by both Rami Malek and Rashida Jones.

There is no more important time for leadership than in times of crisis. While responding to the greatest humanitarian crises of our lifetime, amidst a global pandemic, we witness true leadership and resilience every day from IRC staff, clients and supporters.
