 I’ve lost two dear friends and mentors over this holiday period. Ronnie Young, trumpet player and singer with the Phoenix Jazzmen, and Brian Pandrich who was the fiddle player with the Killingworth Sword Dancers. Ronnie from the world of Traditional Jazz, and Brian from the Northumbrian Folk tradition, both of them important teachers in my own musical development, imparting their hard won knowledge with infectious good humour and kindness. I loved them both. May they rest in peace. Sting.
